Sophia’s road to Malta
On July 3rd, Cyprus confirmed that they were going to come back to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and a couple of weeks later they internally chose Sophia Patsalides to represent the country in Malta. The Cypriot broadcaster CyBC said in a press release that they fully believe in the talent of Sophia, Alex Panayi and Stavros Stavrou to make their return to the competition a complete success.
About the song
The composer of “I pio omorfi mera” is Alex Panayi and the lyrics have been written by Sophia, Alex and Stavros Stavrou. Alex Panayi is a very well known face for Eurovision fans since he has represented Cyprus twice in the competition (1995 and 2000) and has composed several Eurovision entries. Stavros Stavrou is also a successful composer in Cyprus.
The song talks about optimism: even during bad and dark days, we should go ahead and look at the bright side of life:
This is how dreams are made:
With wings and a bit of wind
So it’s time for you to say ‘good morning’
To the most beautiful day of your life
On stage
Sophia will have a bright and energetic performance, in line with the spirit of her song. Charis Savvas will be responsible for the choreography and staging.
